Henry Chamberlain of Coastal Exploration is using wind power to deliver goods from North Norfolk to Norwich. His 1950s whelk sailing boat Salford loaded up with honey, saffron, chutney, coffee and a bottle of whiskey (duty paid, no smuggling here!) in Wells-next-the-sea and sailed around the coast and up the Yare to Whitlingham in two days.
- Grey Seal coffee packed for the journey
- Salford arriving at Whitlingham
- Salford turning to dock
- Docking at Whitlingham
- Cargo from Wells-next-the-sea
- Reloading with Norfolk Gin
- Delivering Norfolk Saffron to the Assembly House
- Delivering to Louis Deli
- Delivering to Jarrold’s
- Look out for these tags
Keeping with the sustainable theme, Henry called upon Outspoken to deliver the goods in to Norwich using an electric-assist cargo bike. The bike is charged with green electricity – sun and wind, like the boat.
For a limited time the honey and beer that were on the boat are available at Louis Deli on Upper St Giles, look out for the special label!
