Bike Biz - Freight bike companies form Euro federation

Through involvement in the CycleLogistics project Outspoken Delivery have been asked to establish the proposed European Cycle Logistics Federation . The inaugural meeting is being planned for July 2012 in Cambridge, Uk. Visit the link to get involved or sign up.

"Cargo bikes have been spotted on Brussels streets, and in European cities and capitals. Now European Cycle Logistics companies are seeking to form a federation. This group is seeking out interested parites from across Europe. "As a group we will be able to influence and convince stakeholders that freight bikes are a feaible option for delivering   cargo in congested innner city areas" says Rob King..."

Meeting with the all ability cycling group

Rob met up with the project team for an All Ability Cycling group - a collaboration between Outspoken, the You Can Hub, Wheels for All, Milton Country Park and others. It was really good to see the project coming to fruition, much to do with the enthusiasm of Ruth Brannan, one of our instructors and the person co-ordinating the project. Interview with Rob King

EDF has been talking a lot recently about transporting goods by bicycle. This is not about couriers on fixes tackling the streets to deliver packages. Instead the Cyclelogistics project wants to see goods transportation by bicycle move out of it's niche market position. The project reports that "25% of all [transport related] trips could be shifted from motorised vehicles towards cycling-related solutions.”....
